Second class have been learning about how our senses work and how they can protect us from potential dangers around us. They had fun with a mystery bag activity where their sense of touch was put to the test; describing the texture of the items and predicting what they might be. Blindfolded, they carried out a smell investigation; and had to guess the items through their noses alone! We recorded predictions and results. We carried out a jumping rice experiment, to explore how sound travels in waves. We also played guess the sound; guessing from a range of sounds including natural sounds, animal sounds and mechanical sounds. Second class are fascinated by the power of their senses!
